Special Session: Resistance to Englishization

Resistance has been growing to the increasing use of English in domains where previously a local language was the norm. The impacts are widespread, not just in education but also in domains of economics, politics and culture. The use of English in higher education affects not just the direct participants but also filters to earlier levels of education and to commerce and other spheres. ICLHE 2022 has invited eminent scholars to debate questions arising. Speakers: Felix Huygen (Netherlands), Lijie Shao (Ireland), and David Lasagabaster (Spain).
